Why Host with AHO?

🌎 Share Canadian Culture

Help international students experience everyday life in Alberta while learning about your family's traditions and community.

❤️ Make a Difference

Many students are living away from home for the first time. Your kindness and support can make a lasting impact on their academic and personal success.

🤝 Meaningful Cultural Exchange

Hosting is a two-way experience. Families often enjoy learning about different cultures, languages, and traditions from around the world.

💰 Receive Financial Support

Homestay payments help offset the costs of providing accommodation, meals, and household services.

🏡 Support from AHO

We work with host families throughout the matching process and during homestay. We encourage open communication to help create positive homestay experiences.

Why AHO Is Different

AHO was founded by someone who has experienced life as:

  • an international student,
  • a long-term Alberta resident,
  • a parent,
  • and a homestay host.

Because of these experiences, we understand the needs of both students and host families and believe successful homestays begin with thoughtful matching, clear communication, and mutual respect.
